On Thursday 12th March 2026 at 7.30pm, Mother Macs Whiskey Society gathers for something special — our very first official tasting in Peggy’s Whiskey Parlour.
There’s something fitting about beginning a new chapter in a room built on stories, spirit, and shared conversation. Peggy’s was created to honour the past while celebrating what’s new and exciting in Irish whiskey, and this night captures that perfectly.
For our inaugural tasting, we’re proud to feature one of the newest and most talked-about additions to the Irish whiskey market — Black Emerald.
Black Emerald represents the bold, modern face of Irish whiskey. It carries the confidence of a category that has rediscovered its voice and is no longer afraid to experiment, to innovate, and to stand tall on the world stage. On the night, we’ll explore what sets it apart — from its production and maturation to the flavour profile that defines it — and place it within the wider story of Ireland’s ever-evolving whiskey landscape.
But this isn’t just about what’s in the glass.
The Mother Macs Whiskey Society was formed to bring people together — curious newcomers, seasoned enthusiasts, and everyone in between. It’s about conversation without pretension, learning without lectures, and discovering new favourites in good company. Expect a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere, thoughtful discussion, and, as always in Peggy’s, a few laughs along the way.
Whether you’re building your whiskey knowledge or simply looking for a memorable Thursday night in Limerick, this first gathering promises to set the tone for many more to come.
